Clinical Nutritionist Guide

What a Clinical Nutritionist Does & How I Can Help You

What does a Clinical Nutritionist do?
As a Clinical Nutritionist I am here to provide advice and treatment utilising dietary and lifestyle modifications. I can also prescribe nutrients. I work with patients for preventative health purposes and can also assist in complex nutritional medicine cases. No matter where you are in your health journey, I am here to support you.

Who I Help

As a clinical nutritionist, I work with individuals who are:

  • Time-poor and overwhelmed but want to improve their health.
  • Struggling with ongoing symptoms such as fatigue, digestive issues, or skin conditions.
  • Seeking a personalised approach to nutrition instead of one-size-fits-all solutions.
  • Committed to long-term health improvements and ready to make sustainable changes.
  • Looking for a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss their health concerns.

What to Expect From a Consultation

Pre-Appointment Preparation

At the time of booking your appointment, you’ll be asked to:

  • Complete a patient consent form, including details about your medications and supplements.
  • Submit recent blood test results (ideally completed within the last 3-6 months).
  • Identify your top 1-3 symptoms and health goals.
  • Consider your resources (time, budget, mental capacity) to ensure a realistic plan.

The Consultation Process

A typical consultation with me follows a structured approach:

  • Step 1: Initial Consultation (60-90 minutes): We’ll discuss your health history, diet, lifestyle, medical conditions, symptoms, and conduct a physical assessment, if applicable.
  • Step 2: Action Plan: A customised nutrition and lifestyle plan will be delivered to your inbox within 2 business days. This may include dietary recommendations, lifestyle strategies and a script for supplements may also be included. I can also write you a referral, if required.
  • Step 3: Helping you Ride the Wellness Trajectory: Email support is available in between appointments and when you need me I am here for follow up consultations too.

My Approach to Nutrition

Root-Cause Focus

I don’t just address symptoms; I aim to uncover and treat the underlying causes of health concerns. This might involve addressing nutrient deficiencies, advising on stress management, and more.

Evidence-Based & Holistic

Every recommendation is backed by scientific research and tailored to your body’s unique needs. I consider your whole lifestyle, it’s not just about your diet and nutrition.

Collaborative, Patient-Centred Care

I welcome the opportunity to work with your wider health team to ensure you get the best possible health outcomes and to ensure the continuity of your care.

Follow-Up Appointments & Ongoing Support

Follow-ups are crucial to track your progress and adjust your plan as needed. During our initial consultation we will agree on the level of support you require and the ideal timeframe to check back in.  You can book to see me for a;

  • Short Follow Up Consultation (20-30 Min) to review progress or to get a script refilled.
  • Long Follow Up Consultation (45-60 min) to discuss new health concerns or goals.

I also offer the following additional services to help support your ongoing health goals

  • Meal Planning Service including a personalised 7 day meal plan (including a minimum 20 recipes / meal ideas, sent to your inbox in PDF format).
  • Pathology Analysis to review your latest blood test results through a holistic lens, focusing on optimal health markers, not the standard ‘reference ranges’.
  • Functional Testing that goes beyond the standard Medicare tests to help you dive deep into your gut health, hormone health and beyond!
